Support group for fathers of special needs kids
Our Mission
The Man-II-Man support group mission is to help fathers of special need kids by having an environment where we can meet and openly discuss issues that are unique to other fathers but are mutual issues within our family situation. |
Our Goal
To provide a connection with fellow members similar to the Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) support system. But instead of each member having a sponsor, in the event of a personal crisis, members will be paired with a specific partner. Also, a list of each participating member’s telephone contact will be provided to everyone, in the event your specific Man-II-Man partner is unavailable during your crisis. |
Concept
The support group will provide an environment where men may share personal experiences and those contending with the same or similar adversity may gain knowledge from others. Everyone will be heard in a respectful, non-judgmental atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, spiritual guidance and encouragement. Make new friends and help other men by sharing experiences. |
Our History
A support group for men which discusses such topics as: the stress of parenting, stress on the siblings, stress on the marriage or relationship, etc. with fathers of special needs kids. These types of issues can steer a person to a feeling of isolation and cause complication in relationships. Don’t be shy if you have a question. |
