Families inspiring families
Living with Autism is a day to day challenge for the individual and those who care for them. In the world of these families, chaos becomes normal and for the individual normal is quite often chaos. These families have to find a way to cope with the effect Autism has on their loved one and to care and plan for them as best as possible. Huge personal sacrifices are made for these children and many of these families are left hanging on by a thread literally waiting for their child's next smile.
Autism is a condition that isolates the individual from society. Caring for that individual does the same thing for the families. Incredible levels of unconditional love are found on both sides of the equation for the individual toward the parents and vice versa.
The video below on the left was shown through the eyes of one family, my own. I wanted people who saw this video to know that Autism is a life long journey that takes you down many paths. One of those paths lead these families to each other. They began raising money to provide their children and the families with normalcy, love, peer interaction and hope. These families inspired each other and those who came in contact with them along the way.
The video on the right highlights the success story that has been BSoA. Families living with Autism reaching out to help others in their own community and abroad.
